Juno - The pride of London house music, Church, bursts through the scene with the third instalment of its Church Volumes series, an EP which sees the energetic imprint truly integrate themselves into the best of the best, in terms of deep and jazzy deep house music. Nicholas' opener "Alma", for instance, is a supremely melodic slice of jazz-house with a Rhodes playing beautifully in the background, and Jesse Futerman's "A Tribute To Horace" prolongs that same essence of jazz onto a much more cinematic and loose musical terrain - a real stunner, whichever style of music you're into. On the flip, things turn slightly narrower and more club-centric thanks to Seb Wildblood's itchy deep house groover, "Open Up", while "Eclipses" by Philip Budny chugs away at a mid-tempo stance amid a groovy bassline and just the right amount of tribal charm. Tip!
Ben Haukes’ talent knows no bounds, his productions are truly in the zone no matter which genre he chooses. Track 4. ‘Just A Crush’ is an absolute smoker….all 4 tracks do the trick alastair marriott / DjSquirrel
Dj Aakmael on Church. I think that should pretty much be describing enough. Hoping to hear more of these Aakmael tracks with the mellow samples in the future, even though I quite fancy his dubbier side as well. Raul E
